Is reality setting in for Ron Paul?

Well, it’s good to know he has a backup plan:

Loyal Ron Paul supporters,

Here is another way you can help Ron Paul continue to defend freedom and keep the movement alive. Under Texas law Ron Paul can run for President and Congress at the same time and he is doing just that. If you have already given to help elect Ron Paul President, you can also help him by giving to his reelection campaign to Congress. Go to his congressional web site starting TODAY and donate to make sure Ron also wins his reelection campaign for Congress. Let’s help reelect Ron to Congress and elect him President at the same time. Let the Establishment know that the movement will continue, whether in Congress or in the White House. The Texas Primary election is March 4, so time is short for Ron to fund this campaign.

Our goal is to raise $400,000 for Ron’s congressional campaign within the next week or two. Early voting starts in Texas soon and Ron’s congressional campaign needs the money TODAY to pay for TV and radio and mailings.

Federal election laws make it impossible for Congressman Paul to use any of his presidential funds for his congressional race so long as he remains a candidate for president. That creates a real problem because as long as Ron Paul continues to have success running for President, he will have a hard time securing funds for his congressional reelection.

So get online now at http://www.ronpaulforcongress.com and make your maximum donation. Watch the donation counter soar to help keep the Revolution alive. And send this email alert to all of your friends and contacts.

Let’s show Ron Paul exactly how much we love, appreciate and support him.

Yours for Freedom,

Mark Elam
Ron Paul Congressional Campaign Manager

While Ron has secured a huge amount of money from the Internet, the fact is that he’s only getting single digits in each state election and polling a similar number in most of the Super Tuesday states. Thus he has a whopping four delegates out of the 197 allocated thus far, lagging far behind frontrunner John McCain or even second place contestant Mitt Romney. While there are true believers in his message of limited government combined with a noninterventionist foreign policy, most rank-and-file Republicans (myself included) take issue with his stance on the war in Iraq and projection of military power to defend our national interests. (Diehard Paul supporters feel that we’re protecting corporate interests moreso than our nation’s.)

Thus, it looks like his campaign has made the transition from a Presidential one to a Congressional one. He may hang on for awhile nationally in an effort to influence the debate but at this point it appears that Ron Paul is slowly conceding the race to the more mainline hopefuls of the Republican Party. It would be nice if the others picked up on his limited-government views though.

  1. Michael,

Totally off topic to this post, but need some help. Have you come across any polling on the District 1 primary, other than what Pipkin released a month or so ago? I’m still on the fence, agreeing that Rep. Gilchrest needs to go. At this point, I’ll send my vote to whomever is better off in the polls, since I feel that EJ and Dr. Harris are splitting the conservative vote.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

  2. Regarding Ron Paul,

    quote~

the fact is that he’s only getting single digits in each state election

    unquote~

While this is true, one has to wonder what the real numbers are. Many of Pauls supporters numbering in the thousands have complained that their votes strangely lost , or not counted in numerous states. Even today Maine is still not reporting almost 30 % of the vote totals, yet, they have declared a winner. The diebold machines, which Wicomico County is using, are easily hacked, and a Romney supporter is the guy who delivered the machines to the shore. Our Republic is in jeporady at the hands of two factors, a Main stream Media that does it best to misinform and manipulate the electorate, and local politicians who are complicit with big party bosses to manipulate electronic voting machines

  3. Jeff,

I haven’t seen any polling data, but I’m pretty certain that Harris is ahead of Pipkin. If you’re looking to dump Gilchrest, your vote should go to Harris. I’m a Harris supporter, so take my opinion for what it is, but I’ll bet that on election day Harris either wins or comes very, very close and Pipkin polls around 13% or 14%.

    Average Joe,

I’m a Paul supporter but conspiracy theorists like yourself who support him make me hesitate to proclaim my support in public. There is no proof that Diebold machines have ever been hacked nor is there any proof that “local politicians” who are “complicit with big party bosses” have ever manipulated these voting machines. Yes, it’s tempting to blame some shadowy conspiracy when your chosen politician isn’t doing well. After all, it’s easier to think some evil person is thwarting you rather than facing the fact that your views just aren’t that popular with the public. But there is no conspiracy and there is no hacking of electronic voting machines.

  4. Marc,

With all due respect, being undecided and impartial, the poll that was released had Pipkin at 27% and Harris at 26%, with Wayne in the 30’s. I hardly believe that Pipkin will poll in the low teens. His name recognition in this district is too great for that to happen.

  5. Marc,

One more thought, since you lobbed the first prediction, I’ll follow with mine. I’m on record here stating that I’m undecided, but wanting Wayne to go. Here’s my prognostication:

    Wayne 35%
    Pipkin 25
    Harris 25
    Arminio 10
    Banks 5

If either one of them did the honorable thing and pulled out, Wayne is toast. They’re both too bullheaded, so we’re left with two more years of Wayne’s left leaning RINOism. Maybe he gets the message this time and returns to his district’s roots.

  6. To Marc and the Editor of the Monoblogue-

I can assure you that I am not a conspiracy theorist.

I urge you and people like you to wake up and see what is happening. I am beginning to think that in this Nation there appears to be a growing constituency of some new kind of animal, a weird genetic hybrid between an Ostrich and a Sheep.

Read the story of many of Maryland’s voting machines here. And the connection to Romney-

Further, read the independant studies regarding Diebold/Premier here.

Our Union is in peril at the hands of these electronic voting machines.

Further, Marc, are you aware of Andy’s position on immigration amnesty? He is for it- Maybe you should examine Armenio, a true conservative. Not a NeoCon.

  7. Joe,

Interesting reading, but it means absolutely nothing. Yes, some people have made claims that Diebold machines have been hacked. However, there is no proof that this has actually happened. Most things are possible in theory. I’m not interested in theoreticals. Give me some proof that what you are saying has actually happened and I’ll be satisfied.

And Harris certainly isn’t for immigration amnesty. I’ve heard him speak many times on the subject and it’s clear that he’s strongly anti-amnesty. However, I’m actually in favor of amnesty, so your anti-Harris smear, even if it were accurate, would do little to persuade me to vote for Joe Arminio. Arminio seems like a nice fellow, but his views have only a slight relationship to sanity.

  8. Marc,

You are I’m afraid, either a fool or being disengenuis . You’re certainly not a lawyer, hmmm, public defender perhaps.

At any rate, might I suggest that you go on an extended holiday. Please leave your house and car unlocked, with the keys in the ignition. Come, come Marc, it is only a theoretical possibility that you might be robbed, eh? You have no incontrovertible proof that you are actually GOING to be robbed.

Such logic, no wonder you display an inability to see the problem with I. A. amnesty.

You know Marc, I suggest you insert a large snorkel in your mouth, it will be much easier to breath with your head buried…..

    in the sand.

    Cheers!

  9. Joe,

Let’s see some proof, then. With a burglary of a car, there’s a crime scene, a victim, a police report, and a variety of evidence. If it’s as simple to steal an election as you claim, there would also be a victim who would have every incentive to complain, a party apparatus to fund the lawsuit, and evidence of the theft.

Of course, I’m sure that a conspiracy theorist like yourself will say that the absence of evidence is only further proof of the conspiracy.

Whatever. Go on believing that the only reason your chosen candidates don’t win is because elections are stolen by shadowy forces, the Trilateral Commission is running our foreign policy, and that we didn’t land on the moon. Say hi to the Cigarette Smoking Man when you find him.

  10. Marc-

This will be my last post on this subject, I won’t bore with you a statistical analysis because I just don’t feel like typing it all out for you, and with your far reaching analytical skills, I’m of the opinion that, ah well, I’ll say it like this,

-there is none so blind as…etc.

However I would like to address one point of your previous post in which you mention the trilateral commision.

Please, rather then wasting bandwidth on the trilateral commision, BTW- here is the link to their website-

    http://www.trilateral.org/

I urge you to examine the

    Council on Foreign Relations

Are you aware of what the CFR’s stated long term goal is?

    I thought not…..

In light of your gifted knowledge of our political system and all things which affect it, I submit for your perusal the following op-ed piece written by CFR President Richard Haass located here…

    http://www.cfr.org/publication/9903/sovereignty_and_globalisation.html

the most telling paragraph is this one

“The goal should be to redefine sovereignty for the era of globalisation, to find a balance between a world of fully sovereign states and an international system of either world government or anarchy”

    Now, if you will, couple this previous article with another little known fact;

Are you aware that every single Person currently running for POTUS at this time (save Ron Paul) is a member of, and/or advised by, the Council on Foreign Relations.

As proof of this statement, I offer the following link, it’s Mike Huckabee proving he is advised by the CFR regarding our foreign policy-

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_BucPcJrHI

Now, I could trot out more CFR info on the rest of the usual suspects, but it’s pointless Marc is it not? I mean if you still want to scream hysterically at the top of your lungs, that “THERE IS NO PROOF” – -“THERE IS NO VOTE FIXING!!!!” or “THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON!!!!!!!” , well, if that’s the case than I’m afraid I’m just going to have to label you a troll dealing in misinformation and spin, or a completely moronic troglodyte incapable of learning anything unless it happens solely to you.

Which upon further reflection makes me realize that you and

    my cat

    share the same IQ.

and ….it is also a little known fact that,

cats have an IQ exactly equal to-

    an ostrich-

You mouth looks good on that snorkel Marc-

    Keep on SUCKING!

  11. Joe,

As someone who once read avidly the propaganda put out by the John Birch Society, I’m well aware of the CFR and the Trilateral Commission. I’ve read a number of Birch books on the subjects and used to regularly read The New American (later in life I even suscribed to Foreign Affairs, the CFR journal — it’s has much more intelligently written articles than the New American, btw). Of course, I was a kid when I was interested in the Birch Society. There is something appealing about conspiracy theories when you are 12 or 13 — the evil in the world is the responsibility of a few people and you are one of the smart ones to realize this.

However, as I matured, read more, traveled, and worked in the real world I quickly saw that a conspiratorial view of the world is for the ignorant. People like yourself who think you are smarter than everyone else because you know the secret truth that other “sheep” cannot see. It makes you feel good to believe some sinister group of evil men are controlling our nation’s government and economy. It makes you feel good to point to them and say they are responsible. But life doesn’t work that way. Life is much too complicated to be directed by a group of conspirators. We are where we are not because of some small cabal is directing life behind the scenes but because millions of people interact with each other daily.

Continue believing in the CFR-TC conpsiracy if it makes you feel better. I prefer to deal with reality, however.
