2007 White House Christmas Card
I have no idea how I rated being on the list to get one of these, but I thought I’d share it with my readers. Huckabee can wait a day!

The inside Biblical verse is Nehemiah 9:6 (NIV):
You alone are the LORD.
You made the heavens, even the highest heavens,
and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it,
the seas and all that is in them.
You give life to everything,
and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
Now I noticed on the back that it’s a Hallmark card and paid for by the RNC. Since I’ve not gotten a card like this previously I’m unsure if that’s standard procedure or just something to make me feel more important (as in a reprint of the actual card.) It’s not like I gave the RNC any money this year and it didn’t have any fundraising appeal attached so who knows?
I just know it will look nice on my card tree because it was the first Christmas card I got this year, my parents had the second.

Must be that #1 ranking on Blognet!
Well, what will be their excuse tomorrow if I fall to #2 or lower? They’lll kick me to the curb I’m sure.
No mater the reason, the message is beautiful.
Merry Christmas.
Hallmark has been making the official White House Christmas Card for 40 years. No big deal.
Glenn is exactly right. Hallmark has been the official printer for the White House cards since Eisenhower.
Many many thanks to you for allowing me to use your images at American President’s Blog http://www.american-presidents.org and at my my primary site History Is Elementary.
Oh, gosh, we donated plenty and got the card. Maybe we could have withheld and gone to Vegas instead! NOT; rather have the card. Is it machine imprinted or actually signed by our President and our First Lady?
Actually, American Greetings covered Clinton. BTW, Barbra Walters made a big fuss on The View today about getting this card, and finding a scripture inside. I just want to know how it can be politically incorrect to express your own faith on your own religious holiday? Also, there is a book on all the White House Greetings from past presidents.
You recieved an official White House Christmas
Card. They do not send out duplicates.
I was surprised and glad to recieve one for two
years in a row, the last being 2005, And I\’m nothing in any public arena
not even the internet. One credit check would
reveal they aren\’t getting monetary support from
this girl.
But in my Father\’s eyes, I\’m as supportive of this
Beautiful nation as the rest in the Body of Christ.
So who knows, who inspires the list for the year.
What a beautiful thing that you recieved THIS years
CHRISTmas Card.
Savour the unique honor, perhaps thank Him,
because I know, it does make the reciever
feel good! Unless you are Barbara Walters.
It’s not a problem to express your religious views on your Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwansaa or whatever card. But this wasn’t George Bush’s card; it was from the White House.
The biggest problem our worls faces now is religious zealotry, and the religious zeal of Bush, Romney and Huckabee is no better. Every religios fundamentalist takes the position that the other fundamentalists are all wrong because my religion is the one and only true word. It does not take a genius to figure out that approach will doom us all.

“Barbra Walters made a big fuss on The View about getting this card, and finding a scripture inside. I just want to know how it can be politically incorrect to express your own faith on your own religious holiday?”
The fact that Walters is Jewish may have had something to do with her response, or maybe she’s just been brainwashed like much of the public to tolerate intolerance by denouncing anything to do with Christ.
Whatever the reason, it’s ironic that the card actually bears no resemblance to a traditional Christmas card.
If you look closely at the image, except for the token ‘Holiday tree’ in the window, there isn’t anything that eludes to the the Christmas season in a historical sense.
All that’s visible is a dead tree and a statue of boy by a pond. Neither does the inscription mention the birth of Jesus or give cause for celebration. It’s also odd that the present year (2007) was inscribed in the card when it’s customary to send well wishes for the upcoming year.
So, assuming George Bush is the man in charge of all things emanating from the White House, the big question is — what faith was he expressing in the card? Can a confessed Skull & Bones clansman be a true Christian? Sure, he might go to church every Sunday but that’s all for show. Just as were the blessings he sought from Billy Graham before he invaded Iraq.
Regarding Bush’s statement, “If you’re not with us, you’re with the terrorists”… is it Christian-like to condemn a person as being an enemy if they don’t agree with your beliefs or ideals?
It will be interesting to see what ‘religious’ overtones this year’s White House offering brings.
ANYONE HAVE A 2008 White House Xmas card? show it, if so.
